I collected the Little Giant in 1970, and sold most of the specimens collected. At that time pyromorphite was very abundant in the mine, and it was obvious it had not been heavily collected. Later, commercial collectors pretty much cleaned the place out of decent specimens. This is one of the pieces from the 1970 effort. Somewhat grayish green crystals on a hard metamorphic rock. This one wasn't too bad, so I went ahead and purchased it. Prices were all over the place on these...some like this were well over $100. A bit of damage on the central, lower front, easily seen in this photo. |

Pizza Pocket was named for the layered effect the specimens had, with horizontal openings in the pit wall; this pocket tended to have a lot of flat plates of crystals.
