JC2876. Apophyllite Broken Hill mine, Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. 3" x 4 1/2" 413g. $200.00 Not often seen these days, this specimen was collected in the 1960's. Good Broken Hill specimen. What I can't capture in the picture is the beauty of this specimen. It has a 2ndary partial coating, like tiny gleaming micro-freckles, of apophyllite on the larger apophyllite, giving the specimen a great amount of sparkle. It displays beautifully, far better in person. ON SALE, DEDUCT 50% FROM LISTED PRICE |

The left side is coated with chalcopyrite and what appears to be sphalerite. On the right side, another bournonite grew across this one, and where they grew together it is finely patterned with tiny growth marks, and otherwise lustrous. A horizontal bournonite crystal is growing across the back of the main crystal, near the top. The rest of the back side of the specimen is broken where it was removed from its matrix.
