JC871. Brochantite, gypsum. Kansas mine, Aurum dist., White Pine County, Nevada. 6.4 cm x 11.3 cm. 174g. $25.00 The brochantite occurs as a thin botryoidal coating on a partly altered matrix. The gypsum occurs as bright transparent, thin crystals lying on the brochantite. The gypsum is bright and sparkly. These came out of a small, tight seam that graded into rosasite. There is a little rosasite present as a light blue powdery looking material in the center of the specimen and on the edges. One time find of about 10 years ago. |
