These are nearly botryoidal little spherules covering the matrix, with lots of sparkle to them. Color is a light yellow green. Very few of these were ever recovered. |

JC13941. Pyrite, arsenopyrite, sphalerite, calcite. Trepca Stari Trg Mine, Mitrovica, Kosovo. 15.5 x 11.0 x 3.0 cm 779g $125.00. A flattish plate, with pyrite dominant on the reverse side, and arsenopyrite dominant on the front side. This view is of the arsenopyrite rich side (which I am calling the display side), with most of it coated with brilliant, small silvery arsenopyrite crystals. Some of them form little stacks, which appear to be pseudos after another mineral....maybe pyrrhotite? Scattered here and there are cubic, bright, golden pyrite crystals, and a bit of sphalerite. Very pretty and sparkly. |
